By Ruth Chayinda
President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Zambia should utilise the stability and peace the country enjoys to attract investments to advance economic growth.
President HICHILEMA says the country is promoting the asset of peace and stability in a democratic environment to woo investments and enhance trade and encourage entrepreneurship.
He says the freedoms the country has managed to attain should be used to develop the country.
President HICHILEMA has also called for more domestic investment to enable the country to grow the economy sustainably.
Speaking when he launched the Oxford handbook of the Zambian Economy, President HICHILEMA also noted that if the Government had not made progress with the debt restructuring, the 2025 budget would have been channeled to pay debt.
And Economics Association of Zambia EAZ President OSWALD MUNGULE said the handbook provides a roadmap on Zambia’s economic journey as the country seeks to attain a sustainable diversified resilient economy.
And Finance Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE said the handbook will be an important resource for the country to consistently grow its economy.
Dr MUSOKOTWANE said the UPND Government is resolved to attract more investments in various sectors so that there is increased production in the agriculture and mining sectors.
