HH looks forward to handing over COMESA Chairmanship-HAIMBE
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, MULAMBO HAIMBE says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA looks forward to handing over the Chairmanship of COMESA to Burundi President ÉVARISTE NDAYISHIMIYE.
This will be during the COMESA Summit scheduled for 31st October, 2024.
Mr. HAIMBE said this when he met Burundi Minister of External Relations and International Cooperation ALBERT SHINGIRO on the sidelines of the 6th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union.
Mr. HAIMBE also held a bilateral meeting with Democratic Republic of Congo -DRC, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and the Francophonie

The meeting was aimed at reaffirming the existing warm and cordial relations between Zambia and the DRC.
Mr. HAIMBE also met Zimbabwean Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade FREDERICK SHAVA.
The Ministers exchanged views on pertinent matters of mutual interest between Zambia and Zimbabwe, including support for each other’s candidatures for international organisations.
Further, Mr. HAIMBE met Kingdom of Lesotho Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations LEJONE MPOTJOANA where Zambia was commended for successfully hosting the 26th SADC Ministerial Committee of the Organ -MCO- on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation meeting in Lusaka from 11th to 12th July, 2024.
The Minister also met Namibian Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr. PEYA MUSHELENGA
The two Ministers discussed crucial issues aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, Including enhancing collaboration at multilateral levels.
Mr. HAIMBE is leading the Zambian delegation to the 6th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union scheduled to be held on 21st July, 2024.
