HH wants student hostels under construction to be completed soon
By Mary Kachepa
Education Minister, Douglas Syakalima has been directed to ensure construction of university students hostels are completed by December this year.
President Hakainde Hichilema has made the directive today, when he inspected construction projects for students hostels at University of Zambia UNZA- Ridgeway Campus.

Speaking when he addressed the students, President Hichilema says projects delay when there is no supervision.
He has therefore urged the contractor, Jiangxi Wahkong to work 24-7 so that works can even be completed ahead of schedule.
President Hichilema says the hostels should to be completed as soon as possible so as to decongest the existing Hostels.
And President Hichilema says his government is committed to continuously invest in education, in fulfillment of his promises.
Meanwhile, UNZA Ridgeway Campus Students Union President, Preston Mulala thanked President Hichilema for increasing meal-allowances.
And the contractor, Jiangxi Wahkong Deputy Managing Director, Jeremy Yu said the hostels will have 640 bed spaces.
Mr Yu said the company will do its best to complete the works within the scheduled time.
