HH warns against stealing public funds

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has warned public officers against stealing money and other resources that are meant for the people of Zambia.
President HICHILEMA says anyone who diverts from working hard to amass wealth by stealing public funds will face the full wrath of the law.
He says it is important that Zambians embrace hard work, and ensure public funds are used for their intended purpose.
The Head of State was speaking when he addressed the masses that attended the 2024 Samu Lya Moomba Traditional Ceremony in Monze.
And President HICHILEMA has warned traders selling ZNS mealie meal at more than K230 that the law will visit them.
He said it is not right for some traders to take advantage of the hunger situation to make abnormal profits.
Speaking at the same event, Chief CHOONGO said the Samu Lya Moomba is a beacon of national independence and a true symbol of One Zambia, One Nation.
Chief CHOONGO, who spoke through his representative, CHARLES MAKOZE, reiterated that the Chiefdom is solidly behind President HICHILEMA in his efforts to foster peace, unity and development in the country.
And Samu Lya Moomba Organising Committee Chairperson, JASPER SIMANEGO, said the committee is happy that the ceremony has been gazetted as a national event.
Meanwhile, House of Chiefs Chairperson CHIEF NKAMBO praised Chief CHOONGO for his commitment to the fight against climate change, through the launch of a number of adaptation initiatives.
And Southern Province Minister, CREDO NANJUWA, said the province has started distributing farming inputs to 183, 375 farmers.
