HH, XI JINPING confer

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and his Chinese counterpart XI JINPING have held bilateral talks focused on building a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreed on last year.
Speaking during the talks held at the great wall of the People’s Republic of China, Chinese President XI JINPING said he is happy that the vision of enhanced bilateral relations is bearing fruit.
He noted the progress that Zambia has made in various sectors of the economy since upgrading of bilateral relations last year
President XI has pledged to use this year’s Forum on China Africa Cooperation that will officially open tomorrow as an opportunity to join hands for further development.
He has praised President HICHILEMA for supporting China through his visits to Shaagen and Xijiang regions.
And President HICHILEMA said Zambia has achieved a lot in infrastructure, mining and energy following the uplifting of the bilateral relations.
The President said a lot can still be achieved even under the Forum for China Africa Cooperation framework.
He said Zambia is keen on deepening relations for the mutual benefits of the two countries.
President HICHILEMA praised President XI for promoting peace and security globally which he said is cardinal for development.
