Hubby on the run after hacking wife
A 20 year old woman of Chasefu District, Eastern Province is nursing multiple wounds at Chipata Central hospital after she was hacked by her husband.
JUDITH ZIMBA of Mateyo village, was allegedly hacked by her husband FRANCIS MUTABALE on Sunday after a marital dispute.
Eastern Province Police Commanding officer ROBERTSON MWEEMBA said the victim had earlier left the matrimonial house and went to her uncle’s place.
Mr Mweemba said the suspect followed the wife and pleaded with the wife’s uncle to release his wife so that they could resolve the differences at home.
He said shortly after getting his wife, the suspect hacked her with a machete causing grievous bodily harm.
And the mother to the victim MONICA MTOBGA has appealed to the police to ensure that the suspect who is on the run is brought to book.
Meanwhile SHAPI CHONGO, one of the doctors attending to the victim at Chipata Central hospital said the victim is responding well to treatment.
