India to Support Livestock breeding and census
The Indian Government says it is working on modalities such as Livestock breeding and census that will help Zambia to improve the fisheries and Livestock subsectors.
Indian High Commissioner to Zambia, ASHOK KUMAR also says his government will in two months’ time donate relief maize to support vulnerable communities.
Mr. KUMAR has explained that India is committed to ensuring that communities in Zambia that have been left vulnerable due to drought are supported for them to be food secure.
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Fisheries and Livestock Minister PETER KAPALA in Lusaka, Mr. KUMAR said the 60 years of strong bilateral relationship between Zambia and India has helped to unlock economic potentials for both countries.
And Mr. KAPALA asked the government of India to set up vaccine production plants in Zambia to safeguard livestock against diseases.
Meanwhile, Fisheries and Livestock Permanent Secretary HIMBA CHEELO has called for value addition in both the fisheries and Livestock subsectors.
