
“Indian Pharmaceuticals Continue Investing in Zambia”

New Indian High Commissioner to Zambia ALOK RANJAN says Indian pharmaceutical firms are increasingly investing in Zambia’s healthcare infrastructure.
Mr. RANJAN says several Indian companies have already established local production units, with ongoing efforts to expand through joint ventures, technology transfers, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Speaking during the first ever India-Zambia Pharma business forum in Lusaka, Mr. RANJAN said emphasized India’s ambitious target of achieving 130 billion dollars in pharmaceutical exports by 2030, underscoring the country’s commitment to global healthcare.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Donor Coordination GEORGE SINYANGWE acknowledged the longstanding India-Zambia partnership in the pharmaceutical sector.
Dr. SINYANGWE noted the key factors driving Zambia’s pharmaceutical market, including increasing healthcare investments, government initiatives, and the rising demand for high-quality medicines.
And, India-Zambia Business Council President AYYUB NAGARSETH emphasized the need for enhanced business collaborations to unlock new trade opportunities.
