Institute of Architects warn of prosecution for illegal constructions
The Zambia Institute of Architects is concerned with the growing number of construction sites that have not been approved by local authorities.
Institute President, Musunka Silungwe, says illegal construction sites pose a serious threat to public safety and contribute to unplanned settlements.
Mr. Silungwe told ZNBC News that the institute will soon be carrying out a nationwide inspection of construction sites for strict enforcement of built environment laws.
He warned that non-compliant construction projects will face legal action, including prosecution or suspension of licenses for registered architects.
