JJ Banda’s wife arrested for aiding husband’s escape

Petauke Central Member of Parliament EMMANUEL BANDA’s wife LOMBE has been arrested for  aiding her husband’s  escape from lawful custody.

LOMBE CHALI was arrested and charged on August 9, 2024  for the offence of aiding a  prisoner to escape.

Meanwhile, two Police Offices and three prison warders have also been arrested and charged for aiding the escape of  Mr. BANDA.

Mr BANDA escaped from lawful custody while admitted at Chipata General Hospital on August, 4, 2024.

Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA has identified the officers as PHINEAS MFUNGWE  , BENSON KABOLE  , MOSES SAKALA , NATHAN MBAO and MUSA SPIDER ZULU.

Mr HAMOONGA says  all six have been released on Police Bond and will appear in court soon to answer to the charges leveled against them.

And , Mr HAMOONGA says Police  remain committed to upholding the law and ensuring that those who breach the law, regardless of their status or position, are held accountable.
