Jubilee Metals makes strides on Roan operations revival
By Masauso Mkwayaya
Jubilee Metals Group, a diversified metals producer with operations in South Africa and Zambia says it has made progress on restarting its Roan operations in Luanshya.
This follows stable power delivery, as well as the processing of new higher-grade copper feed material, in order to accelerate the production of copper.
Jubilee has implemented a new power agreement after the national power outages had a material impact on the company’s copper production for the months of December 2024 and January 2025.
And Company Chief Executive Officer LEON COETZER says the Roan facility’s unique ability to process both mined material and tailings simultaneously gives the company an operational edge in maximizing resource utilization and production output.
Mr. COETZER says Roan’s processing capacity of up to 45,000 tonnes per month positions it well for sustained high-grade copper production.
He says 30,000 tonnes per month will be allocated to processing the newly secured material, with the potential to expand to full capacity in the coming months.
Mr. COETZER says the restarting of Roan operations follows stable power delivery, as well as the processing of new higher-grade copper feed material, to accelerate the production of copper.
This is according to a statement issued by Jubilee Metals.
