Justice SILUNGWE eulogised

Former Chief Justice ANNEL SILUNGWE has been described by the legal fraternity as a distinguished legal mind who served with distinction and honour.
Chief Justice MUMBA MALILA says the former Chief Justice served the nation diligently in various capacities.
Justice MALILA says the late Justice SILUNGWE remains a beacon to members of bench and legal fraternity.
He said this in LUSAKA today during the Valedictory Service for late Justice SILUNGWE at the Supreme Court.
At the same event, Attorney General MULILO KABESHA described Justice SILUNGWE as a mentor to many lawyers.
Mr. KABESHA praised Justice SILUNGWE for his availability to various legal services even after retirement.
Meanwhile, Law Association of Zambia -LAZ- President LUNGISANI ZULU said Justice SILUNGWE was a distinguished legal mind.
And speaking on behalf of State Counsel, BONAVENTURE MUTALE said Justice SILUNGWE; apart from his distinguished service on the bench was a brilliant law lecturer.
Justice SILUNGWE, 88 died on June 30, 2024 in Lusaka.
He reigned as first indigenous Chief Justice from 1975 to 1992.
