K1.5m looted at Lusaka City Council

The Lusaka City Council has launched an investigation into the alleged looting and misappropriation of 1.5 million Kwacha council funds.

According to a report presented to the Third Ordinary Council Meeting by Audit and Risk Committee Chairperson MAINDA SIMATAA, 50,000 liters of fuel worth 1.5 million Kwacha was looted or misappropriated between January and June 2023.

And Lusaka Mayor CHILANDO CHITANGALA says the council takes the allegations seriously..

Ms. CHITANGALA says she has called for a thorough and impartial investigation to establish the facts.

This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by Ms. CHITANGALA.
