Kabesha calls for international collaboration in corruption
Attorney General MULILO KABESHA has called for international partnerships and collaboration among Heads of Anti Corruption Agencies, Central Authorities and Prosecution Authorities in the SADC region.
Mr KABESHA says this is to enhance the investigation and prosecution of corruption.
The Attorney General said this yesterday in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the sidelines of the high-level dialogue on mutual legal assistance for SADC countries under the umbrella of the United Nations on Drugs and Crime.
Mr KABESHA notes that there is a need for more international partnerships aimed at attaining the desired transparency and accountability levels that would lead to efficiency and integrity in the manner investigations on crime are conducted.
He notes that the regional high-level meeting has provided a platform for engagement among players and that he is optimistic that such discussions would, in turn, lead to enhanced collaboration in investigating and combating crime.
Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC- Acting Director General MONICA MWANSA said the high-level dialogue is important as it offers a platform for information and experience sharing among Heads of Anti Corruption Agencies in the SADC region.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by First Secretary Press and Public Relations at the Zambia High Commission, TAMARA NYIRENDA.
