
Kafue River Acidic Pollution Contained- Mposha

Green Economy and Environment Minister Mike Mposha says the latest report on the contamination of Kafue river indicates that the acidic pollution has been controlled.
Mr. Mposha says the technical team is still monitoring the PH levels in the water to ensure there is no further spread.
Speaking when he delivered a ministerial statement in Parliament, Mr. Mposha said Sino Metals has been engaged to see to it that all farmers and consumers that were affected by the pollution be compensated.
He said government will not speculate but engage experts to ascertain that there is no presence of heavy metals in the water and soil.
Mr. Mposha said testing of the soil and water is still ongoing and another report will be provided once the process is concluded.
