
Kafue River Cleanup: China Sends Experts

A team of experts from China is expected in the country to help with the clearing of pollution in the Kafue River.
Chinese Deputy Ambassador to Zambia, WANG SHENG disclosed this during a meeting with Water Development Minister, COLLINS NZOVU.
Mr. SHENG said that the Chinese government will actively participate in ensuring complete elimination of the pollution in the affected water bodies.
He explained that his country understands the importance of the Kafue River to Zambia, hence the decision to join forces with the Zambian government.
And Mr. SHENG said the Chinese embassy will continue to closely monitor all Chinese companies operating in the country to ensure they abide by the country’s laws.
Meanwhile, Mr. NZOVU expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for showing willingness to work with government to eliminate the contamination.
Mr. NZOVU said the team that will come from China should work in collaboration with the local experts to ensure the pollution is quickly cleaned up.
