KAMOKO urges HELSB to align financing with industry needs
By Wilson Mulinda
Education Permanent Secretary for Educational Services JOEL KAMOKO has challenged the Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board –HELSB- to re-examine its financing model.
Mr. KAMOKO is emphasizing the need to equip graduates with skills that align with industry demand.
He says there should be data sharing among key players to ensure that investments are giving the required returns.
Mr. KAMOKO said this during the ongoing 34th Annual Association for the Promotion of International Cooperation in Education –APICE- Conference, being held in Barranquilla, Colombia.
He said there is need to have a workable relevant financing scheme which can only be achieved when other team players come on board and support the work of the HELSB.
Mr. KAMOKO also called on other key stakeholders to collaborate with the HELSB to grow its fund base.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC news by HELSB Corporate Communications Manager CHISELWA KAWANDA.
