Kasenseli Gold Mine to be re-opened soon -HH

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Kasenseli Gold Mine in Mwinilunga District which closed in 2021 will be re-opened soon.

Kasenseli Gold Mine was closed after illegal mining which led to deaths at the mine.

President HICHILEMA says the government wants to diversify the mining sector by encouraging mining of other minerals in different districts of North western province..

Speaking when he addressed the Nsakwa Yaba Kaonde Traditional Ceremony, President HICHILEMA called on members of the public to desist from illegal mining activities in the province.

President HICHILEMA said mining should be done in a legal manner if the country is to benefit from its mineral resource.

The President has however called on members of the public to be patient with the United Party for National Development as they deliver on their campaign promises.

And Leader of Opposition in Parliament ROBERT CHABINGA said the UPND government has delivered on most of its campaign promises and should be supported.

Meanwhile, Traditional leaders have hailed the government for their timely response during the drought by ensuring that maize was made available to hunger stricken areas.
