Kasumbalesa cholera cases rise to 70

Cholera cases at Kasumbalesa border post have risen to 70.
And Copperbelt Province Minister ELISHA MATAMBO has recommended for the temporary closure of restaurants and a bakery operating at Kasumbalesa border.
Five people have died from the diarrhoeal disease since the break out on January 20, 2025.
Mr. MATAMBO who toured the market and inspected some restaurants said temporary closure of the restaurants and a bakery is aimed at preventing further spread of the disease and loss of lives.
And Copperbelt Provincial Health Director CHARLES MWINUNA said two cholera centres have been opened in Chililabombwe town with one more expected to be opened at Kasumbalesa border in the next 72 hours.
