Kawana assures media of safety

Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a free and safe environment for media practitioners.
Mr. Kawana underscored the importance of fair and balanced coverage across all types of news, not just politics.
He made these remarks during the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) Media Impact Awards in Lusaka.
Meanwhile, CEEC Board Chairperson, Jason Kazilimani, noted the importance of collaboration between the government, media, and other stakeholders in promoting economic empowerment.
Adjudicating Panel Chairperson, Brenda Bukowa, said the CEEC Media Impact Award provides opportunities for journalism to thrive in Zambia.
