
KCM, HELSB Award Student Loans to 64 Students

Konkola Copper Mines -KCM- and the Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board -HELSB- have awarded student loans to 64 outstanding students under the KCM-HELSB scholastic Excellence Programme for the 2025 academic year.
Three hundred and 46 applications were received out of which the 64 students were selected to study at the Copperbelt University, the University of Zambia, Northern Technical College and Zambia University College of Technology after meeting the eligibility criteria.
The sponsorship cost amounts to about 2.7 million Kwacha within the allocated programme budget and will cover tuition and other related costs.
Higher Education and Scholarships Board Chief Executive Officer JOHN MACHAYI has reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to expanding higher education opportunities for Zambian youths.
And, KCM Chief Operating Officer MALCOLM MEWETT has emphasized the company’s focus on investing in education as a means of fostering local talent development.
This is according to a joint statement issued to ZNBC News in Lusaka today by KCM Public Relations Manager VICTORIA ZIMBA and Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board Corporate Affairs Manager CHISELWA KAWANDA.
