Kulamba Ceremony rescheduled
The Kulamba Traditional Ceremony Organising Committee has rescheduled the ceremony from August 31, 2024 to August 24, this year.
Committee Chairman General, Chief MBANG’OMBE and Chairperson for Invitations and Publicity, LUCAS PHIRI, have both confirmed the development.
Chief MBANG’OMBE explains that the change of the date for the ceremony has been necessitated by a request made by the Presidents of Malawi and Mozambique to Kalonga Gawa Undi, which has been granted.
The traditional leader, who is Chief of the Chewa people of Katete and Sinda Districts, stated that the two leaders will be attending the African Leadership Summit in China on August 31, hence requesting the date for the traditional ceremony to be changed to
enable them to attend the event.
Speaking when he made the announcement, Chief MBANG’OMBE called on all participants, attendees and other stakeholders to adjust their plans accordingly.
Meanwhile, Mr PHIRI indicated that President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is expected to grace the ceremony alongside his counterparts from Malawi and Mozambique.
