Kundananji takes BayFC to playoff

Zambia’s Copper Queens forward RACHEAL KUNDANANJI has propelled Bay FC to a historic United States National Women’s Soccer League -NWSL- playoff spot.
KUNDANANJI scored a brace in Bay FC’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Houston Dash at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
Bay FC struck first in the 10th minute, capitalizing from an own goal by Houston’s PAIGE NIELSEN.
Houston however found the back of the net with an equalizer from BARBARA OLIVIERI in the 14th minute.
Bay FC regained the lead in the 21st minute when KUNDANANJI unleashed a powerful shot that left Houston goalkeeper HEATHER HINZ with no chance.
Houston leveled the score again early in the second half through AVERY PATTERSON’S solo effort.
However, KUNDANANJI sealed the game for Bay FC in the 54th minute, showcasing incredible skill to net the winning goal.
Her two goals marked the first-ever brace in Bay FC’s history and helped the team secure its first playoff spot.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Football Association of Zambia, REUBEN KAMANGA has expressed excitement over KUNDANANJI’s performance.
KAMANGA says KUNDANANJI’s performance is an example of how women’s football is moving in the right direction with 2 of Zambia’s stars playing at high level.
