Lecturers from 24 TEVET colleges countrywide have called off their sit-in protest following the intervention by the Cabinet Office.
Last week, the lecturers embarked on a two-day sit-in protest to press for the start of the bargaining process for 2024.
National Union of Technical Lecturers and Allied Workers -NUTELAW President- EMMANUEL MWILA says lecturers have today gone back to work following a meeting held on Friday with the Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet.
Mr. MWILA told ZNBC News that the union leaders agreed with the government to allow dialogue to prevail.
He said union members have been advised to go back to their work stations as negotiations continue with the government.
Mr. MWILA said parameters for the negotiations are expected to be released today and the bargaining process for 2024 is expected to start on Tuesday.
