Livingstone district has sufficient ARVs

The thirty three health facilities in Livingstone District including the Livingstone Teaching hospital have stocks of Antiretroviral -ARVs and essential drugs to last for the next three months.
Livingstone District Pharmacist, CHEELO MUVUNDIKA has disclosed that for first line drugs, the district is currently at about eighty percent drug availability.
Mr. MUVUNDIKA says for the second line drugs, the average monthly consumption at the moment stands at six hundred against the two thousand available stock.
Speaking after a conducted tour of selected health facilities by Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency-ZAMMSA officials, Mr. MUVUNDIKA said the district will not experience any shortage of drugs.
And ZAMMSA Senior Manager Corporate Communications, BRADLEY CHINGOBE said the stocks of drugs in all the districts are expected to improve following the conclusion of the stock take that was recently conducted by the institution.
