Livingstone Hospital to conduct Free eye clinics to pupils
Livingstone University Teaching Hospital says untreated eye problems associated with either allergies or refractive errors are some of the leading causes of why some pupils lack concentration in school.
Hospital Eye Clinic Nurse in Charge, MAGGIE MWANZA says many school going children have untreated eye problems, a situation that is affecting their performance in school.
She says the hospital has conducted outreach programmes in 15 schools in Livingstone reaching about 2,000 learners with free screening and free spectacles.
Ms MWANZA has told #ZNBCNews that the outreach programmes have also been extended to communities within Livingstone.
She says the response for eye screening from members of the public has been overwhelming.
