
Livingstone residents warned of breeding herds of elephants
The Department of National Parks and Wildlife-DNPW -has Warned that a breeding herd of elephants has crossed into Zambia in Livingstone.

arden South Region, Wilfred Moonga says the herd of elephants crossed into Zambia last week, has a lot of juveniles, some as young as one week old, making their mothers very protective.
Mr Moonga told ZNBC News that over 150 elephants crossed into the Mosi oa Tunya National Park in Livingstone from Zimbabwe.
He said the elephants which are a shared resource with different countries usually cross into Livingstone late into the dry season.
Mr Moonga however said in the last two years the first herd migrating into Zambia have been spotted earlier than usual.
And Mr. moonga has cautioned road users to be careful and give elephants the right of way in the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park, especially the stretch between Radisson Blu Hotel and Dry Manzi picnic area which is an active wildlife corridor
