“Local Govt system will be gender responsive”

Government has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting an inclusive and gender responsive local government system.
Local Government Minister, GARY NKOMBO says empowering women to take leadership roles in politics is crucial for creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
Mr NKOMBO said this in Lusaka during the Global Partners Group meeting of the Partnerships for Municipal Innovation Women in Local Leadership Project- PMI-WLL.
Meanwhile, Lusaka City Council Mayor CHILANDO CHITANGALA said
the PMI initiative represents a forward-thinking and collaborative approach to addressing the challenges faced by women and girls.
And, Canadian High Commission Representative, CORRY VAN GAAL said supporting women’s leadership and promoting gender-responsive governance, creates a ripple effect that improves service delivery and community engagement.
