LUFUMA encourages military to boost food production

Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA has advised staff in the military to embrace innovation and produce more food to make the country food secure.
Mr. LUFUMA has also challenged the Zambia Army to learn from the Zambia National Service -ZNS- and fully participate in agriculture.
He says the drought that was experienced in 2024 is a wakeup call for the country to prepare adequately for it to be food secure.
Mr. LUFUMA was speaking when he graced the Zambia Army Officers annual ball in Lusaka.
Meanwhile, Zambia Army Commander Lieutenant General GEOFFREY ZYEELE said his command is ready to attend to all Presidential directives.
General ZYEELE said the 2024 drought was an eye opener, with food security being a priority in 2025.
