Lusaka records 3 suspected cases of Mpox

Lusaka has recorded 3 suspected cases of Mpox and the patients are currently under investigation and isolation.
This brings the cumulatively number of Mpox cases recorded in the country to 12.
Health Minister ELIJAH MUCHIMA says the MPOX outbreak is under control as teams have continued to conduct response activities.
And speaking during a virtual press briefing today, Dr MUCHIMA disclosed that over 104,000 people have so far been vaccinated against Cholera in Kasumbalesa and Chililabombwe .
The ministry targets to vaccinate 129,000 people.
Dr MUCHIMA said the oral vaccination campaign which concludes today is aimed at reducing transmission of the disease in the area.
He said the Ministry is also in the process of drilling 8 boreholes in various zones of Kasumbalesa to provide safe water to the community.
