Lusaka to experience water supply interruptions
The Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company says a number of areas in Lusaka will experience interruptions in water supply.
Utility Public Relations and Customer Service Manager RUTH MULENGA says the
disruptions which will also include low water pressure have been caused by vandalism of cables and infrastructure.
Ms. MULENGA says the vandalized infrastructure is worth more than 200,000 Kwacha.
She says the affected water sources include the Malofarm Boreholes, which supply Ndeke Village, and the Avondale Boreholes, which provide water to New Avondale and part of Old Avondale.
Ms. MULENGA says the other affected sources are the Chakunkula Borehole, serving part of Kamanga, and the International School Boreholes, which supplies Kalundu and Roma via the Mass Media Booster station.
She says the situation hinders the pumping of water from groundwater sources, worsening the challenges faced by our customers.
