Mafinga recovers K1m from CDF beneficiaries

Mafinga Town Council has recovered over one million Kwacha from beneficiaries of loans under the Constituency Development Fund.
Mafinga Town Council Social Economic Planner MOSES MWABA says the council had disbursed over six million Kwacha in loans to beneficiaries under the 2022 and 2023 CDF.
Mr MWABA says some of the beneficiaries have started paying back.
He says the funds received by the council will be loaned to other applicants.
Mr. MWABA says the CDF committee has since recommended that 11 applicants that were left out on the 2024 list be empowered using the recovered funds.
He says the council is now in the process of writing to the Local Government Provincial office for approval of disbursements to the 11 applicants.
