Malanji,Yamba found with a case to answer

Former Foreign Affairs Minister JOSEPH MALANJI and former Secretary to the Treasury FREDSON YAMBA have been found with a case to answer by the Lusaka Magistrates Court in the proceeds of crime and failure to follow the law and procedure cases.
Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate IRENE WISHIMANGA has delivered the verdict.
Magistrate WISHIMANGA has ruled that the prosecution has established a prema facie to warrant putting Mr. MALANJI and Mr. YAMBA on defence.
Mr. MALANJI has elected to call 20 witnesses while Mr. YAMBA will call three.
In this matter, former Foreign Affairs Minister JOSEPH MALANJI is charged with possession of properties deemed to be proceeds of crime.
Mr. MALANJI is jointly charged with former Secretary to the Treasury FREDSON YAMBA.
Mr. YAMBA allegedly willfully failed to follow law and procedure when he authorised the transfer of over 108 million KWACHA to the ZAMBIA Mission in Turkey for the purchase of real estate.
