By Wislon Mulinda
Lands and Natural Resources Minister Sylvia Masebo says Zambia can benefit from Russia’s experience in land registration and the use of technology to improve the registration process.
Ms. Masebo says improved land administration can attract investment in various sectors such as agriculture, mining, construction, and many others.
Speaking when Russian Ambassador to Zambia Azim Yarakhamedov called on her at her office, the Minister briefed the entourage that Zambia can learn a lot from Russia in land policy reforms.
She said Russia and Zambia can collaborate on the development of digital cadastral maps, which are critical in improving land administration and reducing land disputes.
Meanwhile, Mr. Yarakhamedov affirmed the bilateral cooperation between the two countries from way back and applauded the Zambian Government for creating an enabling environment for business opportunities for Russia and other countries.
This is according to a statement issued by Lands Principal Public Relations Officer Delphine Hampande.
