Matambo checks on KTH rehab works

Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO says the government is happy that the major rehabilitation of the Kitwe Teaching Hospital has started.
Mr. MATAMBO who checked on the rehabilitation works said the government wants to see a modernized Kitwe Teaching hospital equipped with medical equipment.
He said Kitwe teaching hospital built in 1958 has been in a deplorable state, a situation hampering the delivery of quality health care.
And Kitwe Teaching Hospital Medical Superintendent CHILESHE BONI said the hospital has engaged ten contractors to carry out a major overhaul of the entire medical facility quickly.
Dr BONI said works at the Chambeshi ward which is the main gynecology ward are slow due to lack of funding.
