
Matero Boys School Teacher who stole K700,000 arrested

The Matero Boys Secondary School teacher, who allegedly stole money for GCE examinations fees, has been arrested.
Reverend ELIFAS BANDA, aged 35, last month went away with over 700,000 Kwacha, money which had been collected from GCE examination candidates at the school.
Yesterday, the suspect was apprehended at ZOMBE border post in Mbala, Northern province, as he tried to come back into the country from Uganda.
Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA has confirmed the arrest of Reverend BANDA.
Mr HAMOONGA says the suspect is detained at Mbala Police Station awaiting to be transferred to Matero Police Station in Lusaka, where the matter was initially reported.
