
Matero Boys Secondary School Pays for Stolen Exam Fees

About 500 candidates were at risk of missing out on the 2025 General Certificate of Education -GCE- examinations at Lusaka’s Matero Boys Secondary School.
This is after a teacher at the school allegedly stole over 700,000 Kwacha, which the candidates had paid as examination fees.
Examinations Council of Zambia -ECZ- Public Relations Manager, NICOLAS NKHUWA however says the school has managed to pay the fees for the candidates from alternative sources.
Mr NKHUWA has however told ZNBC news that the ECZ is concerned that some candidates are still NOT using the online method of payment, which is secure.
Meanwhile, police have opened a docket for the respective teacher, who allegedly stole the registration fees for the GCE candidates at Matero Boys Secondary School.
Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA has since identified the suspect as ELIFAS BANDA, who was entrusted with 713,600 Kwacha, fees for the 2025 GCE examinations.
