Met Dept advises farmers to get weather updates

The Zambia Meteorological Department has urged farmers to pay attention to the weekly and daily weather updates so that they make the right decisions.
Department Director EDSON NKONDE says weather updates which are now being translated into seven local languages are meant to encourage weather based decision making.
Mr NKONDE was speaking to ZNBC news at the ongoing Climate Change Conference COP29 in Azerbaijan.
And Ministry of Technology and Science Director of Planning and Information VICTOR KACHABE says farmers must embrace the use of technology in agriculture to increase resilience to climate shocks.
Meanwhile, Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa -AFSA- has urged the African Group of Negotiators at COP29 to demand for climate adaptation funds towards the Agriculture sector in Africa.
Dr. MILLION BELAY says African countries need grant based funding as opposed to loans.
