By Caren Mwaka
Construction of two mini civic centers in Lusaka’s Kanyama and Matero Constituencies have been completed.
Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary NICHOLAS PHIRI says the two are among five other mini civic centres that stalled in 2018 due to lack of funding.
Speaking in a phone interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka, Mr. PHIRI says construction of the mini Civic Centres in other Constituencies in Lusaka is at various levels of completion.
He says the centre in Mandevu Constituency is at 30- percent, while that in Munali Constituency is at 65- percent.
Mr PHIRI says that in Kabwata is at 70-percent and Lusaka Central is at 55- percent completion.
He says the construction of the mini civic centres was in 2021 handed over to the Lusaka City Council.
He says the purpose of the mini civic centres will ensure that local government services are easily accessible to the people.
