Ministry of Finance releases K15.7bn for November

The Ministry of Finance and National Planning released 15.7 billion Kwacha to finance developmental programs and public service delivery for November 2024.
The Ministry allocated 3.4 billion Kwacha for transfers, subsidies, and social benefits.
This includes 1.7 billion Kwacha for the Farmer Input Support Programme, 500 million Kwacha for the Food Reserve Agency, and 400 million Kwacha for the Constituency Development Fund.
Meanwhile, 2-billion Kwacha was allocated for general operations, with 318.5 Million Kwacha going towards the Cash for Work Programme and 110.7 million Kwacha for geological mapping activities.
The Ministry also allocated 1.4 billion Kwacha for capital expenditure.
This included 832.6 million Kwacha for ongoing road infrastructure projects and 519.3 million Kwacha for infrastructure projects under various Ministries, Provinces, and Agencies.
And 4.1 billion kwacha was spent on debt service and arrears, comprising 1.6 million Kwacha for domestic debt service, 1.2 billion Kwacha for external debt service, and 1.2 million Kwacha for domestic arrears.
And 4.8 billion Kwacha was allocated for the public service wage bill, covering salaries for health workers, teachers, and diplomats.
And Finance and National Planning Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE said the Government has achieved notable milestones in resolving its external debt burden.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE says by achieving this milestone, the government is laying a strong foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future for all citizens.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC by the Ministry of Finance and National planning Office of the Secretary to the Treasury.
