Mkushi gets grader using CDF

The grading of feeder roads in Mkushi District in Central Province has started, following the purchase of a brand new grader valued at 4.9 million kwacha.
Mkushi District Commissioner, JONATHAN KAPUNGWE says the grader was bought using the Constituency Development Fund -CDF- allocation for the district and that 35 kilometers of feeder roads has been done so far.
Mr. KAPUNGWE says the works are being done in areas where communities have been experiencing hardships in transporting produce from the farms to the markets.
He has also disclosed that the construction of Chalata Police Post in the district is almost complete.
Mr. KAPUNGWE said other CDF projects in Mkushi include the completion of Kasokota Primary School at a cost of 350,000 Kwacha and the empowerment of a group of women who were given a 40,000 Kwacha grant.
And the District has paid out a total of 825,600 kwacha to 1,376 beneficiaries under the Cash-for-Work programme.
Mkushi Town Council Secretary OSWELL MPOFU said this is as of August 2024, for all the beneficiaries.
