Mobile NRC issuance to commence in April 2025

The mobile issuance of National Registration Cards -NRCs- is expected to start in April.

Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister, JACK MWIIMBU says the exercise will run simultaneously for a period of THREE months in all the 10 provinces of the country.

Mr. MWIIMBU has explained that the exercise will target to register over THREE Million Zambians across the country at a cost of 440 million kwacha.

And Mr. MWIIMBU has clarified that the Ministry will NOT migrate to digital issuance of NRCs, until after the 2026 General Election.

The Minister said this when he presented a Ministerial Statement in the National Assembly on the issuance of NRCs prior to the house adjourning sine die.
