Mporokoso extension officers get tablets

The Ministry of Agriculture with support from the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority -ZICTA- has distributed 15 mobile tablets to all the Agricultural Extension officers in Mporokoso district.

Ministry of Agriculture Information Technology Officer, NICHOLAS MWAMBAZI says the aim of empowering the officers with gadgets is to enhance digital extension services in the ministry.

Mr. MWAMBAZI notes that Agricultural Camp Extension Officers and Block Agricultural Officers have also been equipped with skills on how to use other agricultural applications to facilitate digital information collection and dissemination.

He was speaking during the capacity building training session in Mporokoso.

And Mporokoso District Senior Agricultural Officer BOYD SAKALA says the mobile tablets will enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of extension services to small scale farmers in the district.

Meanwhile, Agricultural Camp Extension Officer for Mporokoso Central ISAAC LUNGU has thanked government for the timely distribution of tablets as it will enable officers share critical information in real-time.
