Mtendere residents set ablaze house of man who stabbed to death a neighbor

Police in Lusaka have launched investigations into an arson case in which an angry mob set ablaze the house of a man who allegedly stabbed his neighbor to death in Lusaka’s Mtendere township.

The suspect Debonald Mwabashani,32, is accused of killing his neighbor, Patson Bwalya , also 32, following a quarrel.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed the incident, stating that the attack led to unrest among residents, who later torched the suspect’s house.

Mr. Hamoonga has condemned the mob action, urging the public not to take the law into their own hands.

Meanwhile, Allan Zulu , a relative of the deceased, revealed that the suspect is believed to be mentally ill.
