
Multi-facility Economic Zone planned for Luapula province

An investor under the Chalwe Border Development Zone, RENE HUTTON MILLS plans to develop a multi-facility economic zone in Luapula province.
Mr. MILLS says engagements with chief MULUNDU of Mwense District on the development of the facility have reached an advanced stage.
He says according to the plans, the zone is expected to house state of the art agricultural and industrial processing facilities which will also see rare earth metals being processed.
Mr. MILLS was speaking in Livingstone when he met Chiefs MULUNDU and MUKUNI of Kazungula district for further engagements.
And chief MULUNDU said after attending the launch of the Zambezi Economic Free Zone in Kazungula district last year, the team wants to learn more from Southern Province.
The Chief who spoke through Mulundu Royal Establishment Spokesperson, MWEWA KAYABELA said he also wants to learn how to preserve and promote culture and tradition for tourism development.
Meanwhile Chief MUKUNI has encouraged traditional leaders to enhance interactions to promote development in chiefdoms.
Chief MUKUNI said he has continued to host a number of chiefs from across the country that have interest in developing their culture and heritage for tourism promotion of the country.
