Mumba retracts state capture remarks
KANTASHI Member of Parliament ANTHONY MUMBA has retracted his remarks that President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is under state capture.
Mr .MUMBA has since apologised to the President over the remarks.
He has tendered the apology in the National Assembly.
He recently labelled President HICHILEMA as being under State Capture, in relation to the operations of the TAZAMA Pipeline .
Mr. MUMBA said he has come to learn that government has laid down clear guideline on the operations of the pipeline.
Government says the move by Kantanshi Member of Parliament ANTHONY MUMBA to retract his statement made in Parliament is commendable.
This follows remarks by Mr. MUMBA in Parliament that President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and the new dawn administration had been captured by certain interest groups.
In an interview with ZNBC news, Information and Media Minister CORNELIUS MWEETWA said it is a commendable move for him to come out in the open and correct it.
Mr. MWEETWA said by doing this, Mr MUMBA has paved the way for other politicians to follow suit.
