Mweetwa Dismisses Claims of President Hichilema Firing ZAMSTATS Directors
By Patricia Banda
Information and Media Minister, Cornelius Mweetwa, has dismissed as mischievous and malicious the headline in the Mast Newspaper suggesting that President Hakainde Hichilema has fired three directors at the Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTATS).
Mr. Mweetwa says he is alarmed by the lack of professionalism exhibited by the Mast Newspaper.
He says President Hakainde Hichilema has nothing to do with the operations at ZAMSTATS.
Mr. Mweetwa said this in the National Assembly in response to an urgent matter without notice raised by Nalolo Member of Parliament Imanga Wamunyima, who wanted to know the position of the government on the headline in the Mast Newspaper.
