MWIIMBU canes some opposition members

Government has called on some Members of the Opposition to stop abusing President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA for proposing the amendment of Article 52 (6) of the Constitution meant to strengthen the electoral process.
Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister, JACK MWIIMBU singled out the Patriotic Front – PF – as NOT being honest because they are on record of raising the same concern in the past.
Mr. MWIIMBU says Former Justice Minister GIVEN LUBINDA was quoted in a daily tabloid of 9th November 2020, saying article 52 (6) was dangerous and needed to be amended because treacherous people would take advantage and cause uncertainty in an election.
The Minister has wondered why the PF is suddenly changing their position on the matter NOW.
In an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka, Mr. MWIIMBU said a few other stakeholders such as the European Union -EU – report on electoral reforms in ZAMBIA raised the same issue.
And Mr MWIIMBU said Statements on the matter coming from different Ministers do NOT in any way mean that Government is in a panic mode.
He said Government is talking from different angles to provide the correct information on the matter.
