Nakachinda cautioned over illegal meetings
Police have cautioned PF-faction leader, RAPHAEL NAKACHINDA, to adhere to legal procedures when organising public meetings, in order to maintain peace and order.
This comes after police yesterday moved in to prevent an unlawful meeting, which Mr NAKACHINDA had scheduled at Crest Lodge on Twin Palm road in Lusaka.
The meeting, which was expected to be attended by students from various colleges and universities was allegedly reportedly meant to be addressed by former President, EDGAR LUNGU.
Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA has explained that about 40 students were transported to the venue aboard a Rosa bus, registration number BBC 9752, and other buses, whose registration details were not captured.
He added that the meeting, chaired by Mr NAKACHINDA, was interrupted and dispersed before Mr LUNGU could address the assembly.
Mr HAMOONGA has stated that the Zambia Police Service remains committed to ensuring public safety and upholding the rule of law.
