Nakonde records a new cholera case

Health Minister ELIJAH MUCHIMA says Nakonde district has recorded a new case of cholera.
This brings the total number of cases recorded in the district since the outbreak to nineteen.
Dr. MUCHIMA says the Ministry of Health has continued being on high alert to ensure the cholera cases do not spread beyond the district.
He says with the floods currently being experienced across the country, there is need to contain the disease to avoid a major outbreak.
The Minister was speaking in Kazungula district where he opened the district wellness centre constructed by the Global Fund.
And Kazungula District Health Director BELITA ZULU disclosed that the district currently has over seven thousand eight hundred people on HIV treatment.
